This article covers how to install IBM SPSS Statistics 31 for your computer for both Mac and Windows.
This article is for students, employees, and faculty.
If you haven't already requested a license key, please do so here.
Windows installation instructions:
- Download the IBM SPSS Statistics 31 for Windows here.
- Right click on the file>run as administrator.
- If you are a student: enter your computer's login password (NOT your F&M password).
- If you are faculty or staff installing on your F&M issued computer, make sure to use the "make me admin" application in the task bar, and then enter your NetID and F&M password. If you are having trouble, you can also submit a ticket for remote installation.
- Walk through the installation process, the default file installation path should be fine.
- When finished installing, open up SPSS 31 (it should appear when you use the windows search).
- When prompted for activation, click "open license wizard"
- Choose "authorized user license".
- Enter the code given to you from the SPSS license key request forum.
- Click continue and SPSS should reopen and you should be all set!
macOS instructions:
- Download the installer package from here
- Run it and follow the install instructions on screen.
- When it's finished, SPSS should open (if it doesn't, search for it in the magnifying glass in the menu bar in the upper right)
- When prompted for activation, click "open license wizard"
- Choose "authorized user license".
- Enter the code given to you from the SPSS license key request forum.
- Click continue and SPSS should reopen and you should be all set!
