Overview
Mnova is a comprehensive software suite used for processing analytical chemistry data, specifically designed for NMR, LC/GC/MS, and Electronic & Vibrational Spectroscopic techniques. This guide provides instructions for installing the software on Windows and Mac, as well as managing license registration.
Before you get started

This document is intended for Franklin & Marshall Employees, Retired Researching Faculty, and Students.

You must be logged in with your F&M Google Account to download installation files.

To authorize licenses, you must be connected to the F&M campus network or use the F&M VPN service if off-campus.
How to
Follow these steps to set up and authorize Mnova on your computer.
Installing on Windows 10

Download the .msi file for Mnova 14.2 for Windows 10 and launch the installer.

Accept the license agreement and click Next.

Choose the components of MestReNova you wish to install.

If you receive an alert regarding MassHunter data access and Microsoft.NET 2.0, click OK.

Scroll to the MassHunter Provider selection and choose Entire feature will be unavailable.

Click Next and Install to complete the process.
Installing on Mac OSx

Download the .dmg installation file for Mnova 14.2 for Mac OSx.

Double-click the .dmg file and agree to the terms.

Drag the MestReNova application icon into your Applications folder.

Once the copy is complete, close the window and eject the installer from your desktop.

Launch Mnova from your Applications menu.
License Registration and Authorization

Ensure you are connected to the F&M network or VPN.

Launch Mnova. If the license window does not appear automatically, navigate to Help > Get/Install Licenses.

Click Install and browse to your unzipped license file location.

Select the first license and click Open.

Repeat this process for each license individually until all are installed.

Restart the application. You may be prompted to try a new interface; select your preferred option. Note: You may see question marks on some licenses after installation; this is normal.


Checking License Status

Navigate to Help > License Manager.

Verify that your licenses are listed as installed.

Important Notes
-
License Duration: Once registered, the license server grants a 90-day lease, allowing you to use the software without re-verifying on the campus network for that period.

Connection Error: If you encounter an error during licensing, ensure you are not disconnected from the campus network or VPN.
