Overview
You can access your Gmail account on a mobile device. There are many ways to install and use Gmail on your mobile phone/tablet -- the easiest way is to download and use the official Gmail app, which you can get in your app store. If you have multiple Gmail accounts, you can easily toggle between them using the Gmail app.

Before you get started
Make sure you claim your NetID, set up Google 2-step verification, and log into your Gmail account through an internet browser (Chrome recommended) first. You can access your email through a browser at mail.google.com to check that your account is functioning properly. Be sure your account is set up and troubleshoot, if needed. After you confirm your email is set up, you are ready to proceed with adding the app to your mobile device.
How To
Install Gmail on your mobile device
1. Download the Gmail app in your device's app store.
2. Install and open the app.
3. Select the option to add a new mail account.
4. Enter your NetID followed by @fandm.edu (ex: bfrankli@fandm.edu). This is your F&M email address.
- As prompted, enter your F&M password, Google 2-Step Verification, and/or PIN.
- If prompted, enter your netID (ex: bfrankli) and your F&M password
5. Click Save.
Set up a second Gmail account on your mobile device
If you already have the Gmail app and are using it for another account (for example, your personal email), you can add your F&M account.
1. Open the Gmail app.
2. Click the personal image or initial in the top right of the screen.
3. Click Add another account.
4. Click Google.
5. Follow the prompts and use your new F&M Google email address and password to sign in.
Note: You can add more Gmail accounts this same way.
Toggle between different Gmail accounts in the Gmail app
If you have multiple Google email accounts, you can select which email account to access and toggle between the accounts.
1. Open the Gmail app.
2. Click the personal image or initial in the top right of your screen.
3. Choose the Google account for the Gmail you want to access.
