Update Your Phone Number

Summary

It is important you have an accurate phone number in your MyDiplomat account to be sure you get push notifications and alerts from the College. Employees can also update their account to reflect the appropriate work number for the College directory.

Body

Overview

The mobile number you provide in MyDiplomat will be the main contact number for College alerts and notifications, so make sure it is accurate. You should only have one mobile number listed, and it should be a phone you use regularly. If you get a new phone number, then you need to update it in your MyDiplomat student/employee account to make sure F&M College communications, alerts, and multi-factor authentication messages reach you.

For employees, the business number you provide in MyDiplomat will be listed in the F&M directory, so please be sure to keep it up-to-date.

How To

Update a phone number in your account

1. Log into myDiplomat at mydiplomat.fandm.edu.

Note to new students: Make sure you claim your account and have your F&M NetID and password. You will need these to log in. Additionally, the 6-digit verification passcode will be sent to the mobile phone number you provided in your enrollment materials.

2. If prompted, select whether you are a Student or Employee.

3. Click Navigation in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

  • Important notes about entering phone numbers:
    • You should only list one Cell/Mobile phone number.  This should be the phone you want to use to receive texts, multi-factor security verifications, and college communications (such as alerts). If you have a second mobile number you want to have on file for the College, click + Add New and add a second number as Temporary.
    • International students: Enter your phone number in a 3-digit, followed by 7-digit format, starting with the International Access Code followed by the Phone Number in the Phone Number fields:
    • Primary: Use as first contact phone number.  Unlisted: If you don't want a number published in a directory.
    • Primary and Unlisted
  • Note for faculty and professional staff: The number you include as Business or work will be displayed in the directory.

7. Click Update.  It can take up to 24 hours for the system to update your phone number.
