Overview
Students are provided with an F&M Google account that includes email, in addition to other Google apps. The purpose of this account is to provide students with the access and resources they need to complete their academic work. Approximately one year after graduation, this account will be de-activated, data will be deleted, and everything in the account will be inaccessible.
We recommend students plan ahead and establish their own personal email account so they have it to include on their resume and to communicate with future employers -- in addition to any other personal communications. Additionally, it is a good idea to link to a personal email account when required for other online accounts (i.e. multi-factor authentication for on-line retail, banking, entertainment sites, etc.). After a student account is deleted, there will be no way to access any data in the account.
Keep in mind that student email is important while students are completing their academic work because it is the primary source of F&M communication for all F&M offices. It is important for students to check their F&M email regularly.
