Overview
The F&M Technology Equipment Lending Program supports the academic and administrative needs of the College by providing a variety of equipment to the F&M community to meet short-term needs. Equipment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Technology Lending Center in Martin Library. Inventory includes laptops, cameras, conference phones, adapters, microphones, tablets, chargers, cables, carts, and other technology equipment and accessories that are available to borrow.
How To
Reserve equipment
Advanced reservations are encouraged, and you must agree to conditions in the Technology Lending Agreement before checking out equipment. To reserve equipment, use the Patron Portal.
1. Log into the Patron Portal.
2. In the left hand menu, click Centers.

3. To browse inventory available (WITHOUT making a reservation), click Technology Lending Center - MLS 106. If you are ready to make a reservation, skip to step 5.
4. Click on categories to see related available technology. Use the bread crumb trail at the top of the Search area to return to previous categories.

5. When you know what you want, click New Reservation.

6. Select Technology Lending Center - MLS 106.
7. Enter the pickup and return dates/times for your checkout.
Note: Reservations are held for six hours after your selected pickup time. If you do not pick up your reservation within this time, it will be automatically canceled. You can only reserve for up to three days; if you choose a longer period of time, the system will reject your reservation.
8. Check the box to confirm you agree to the terms of services and late fees as explained in this form.

9. Click [green] All to save changes.

10. Click Browse Catalog. Browse to the resource you want to reserve.
11. When you find the item you want to reserve, click the Cart icon.

Note: You can click on the other icons (information, attachments, and schedule) for more information about the item.
You can see how many items are added in your cart by referring to the cart at the top of the screen.
12. After adding all the items you want to reserve, scroll down and click Return to Reservation.
13. Click Submit Reservation.
13. You will receive a confirmation email for your reservation.
Other Important Notes
Reservation has errors
If you have an error in the reservation, (adding an item that is not available, trying to reserve for more than three days, etc.) the system will not allow you to complete the reservation. Click for more information on reservation errors, then make the necessary edits to your reservation.


After you fix the errors you will be able to submit your reservation.

Equipment return
Please return all equipment on or before its due date and in the same condition you check it out. If not, then fines will apply. Since late returns impact the ability for other students to access equipment, please return it before the lending period expires. If equipment is returned late more than three times, then your borrowing privileges may be revoked. You will be responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
FAQs
Where do I pick up the equipment I reserve?
The Technology Lending Center is on the first floor of Martin Library. You can contact the TLC at 717-358-6800
Can I renew a piece of equipment?
You can renew an item if it is not reserved by someone else. You can renew up to two times. The renewal period is also three days. Please stop in the TLC to speak with someone if you need equipment more than the allotted period of time.
Can I borrow equipment for an extended period of time?
If you have a special case that requires use of equipment for an extended period of time, please speak with the TLC to discuss exceptions to the loan period.
