Overview
You need your NetID and password to access multiple applications across the F&M network. If something happens to your password, you have the ability to re-set/change the password yourself. This includes if your forget your password or if it otherwise becomes compromised and you need to choose a new one.
How To
Change your password
1. Go to https://id.fandm.edu
2. Enter your NetID and click Go.
3. Click Forgot Password.
4. Retrieve your one-time passcode from your mobile phone OR personal email address.
- If you do not receive a code OR you do not have a phone number/email address available to receive it, please contact the Help Desk.
5. Enter the passcode into the field and click Go.
6. Carefully read the password requirements on the page, and choose a password that complies. Enter it into the password field and then again in the second password field to confirm. Click Go.
Your password is re-set. You can expect to receive prompts to enter this new password when accessing F&M applications, Gmail, etc.
Make sure your password is updated
After you re-set your password, we recommend you shut down and log out from your devices and then log back in so all system applications re-set your password. In particular, you may want to disconnect from Eduroam and then re-connect with your new password so that you aren't interrupted and prompted to do so later.

When you re-set your password this way, you will immediately see the changes in all of your F&M applications. Be ready to confirm you identity through Google 2-Step Verification, myDiplomat, etc.
Do not re-set your password for your F&M-related accounts through a Google application.

You should always re-set your password at https://id.fandm.edu. If you re-set your password through a Google application, it will not trigger changes for your other F&M-related accounts. However, if you do change your password through prompts in a Google application, please also go to https://id.fandm.edu and follow the above instructions with that password to ensure it is updated across the entire F&M system.
There are some differences when you change your password off-campus (instead of on the F&M Eduroam network),

When you change your password on campus, a few things happen automatically because you are connected to the F&M network. If you change your password when you are off campus, you will need to reconnect to eduroam/Ethernet on campus to update it across all F&M services. Note: In some cases, you may even be prompted to enter your old password until all of the systems sync to recognize your new password.
